WHY IS THIS WATCH IMPORTANT

Omega Constellation is an icon on its own, the line has been one of the longest-running watches out there, in the last years the tendency is prone to smaller watches and these pieces are getting more and more attention.

The line was introduced to showcase OMEGA's craftsmanship through a classic design housing high-grade movements. The dial is equipped with a star on the button, as a reference to constellations. And on the case-back, the Observatory Logo is used to remind the  Omega’s award-winning movements that were evaluated at the Kew Observatory in 1933 and 1936.

Omega released the first Constellation in 1952, and it's still a cornerstone of the modern brand. Today's Constellation dates to 1962 and features a few characteristics highly appreciated by seasoned collectors: Pie-Pan dial, Dog-Leg lugs (first generation), and Cross-Hair dial are some of the most characteristic aspects of this reference which was only made from 1961 to 62.

This particular model was designed by Gérald Genta, yes, the same one who designed the Patek Philippe Nautilus and the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak.

Inside the case-back, we find the mark of CB which indicates that it was made by La Centrale Boîtes of Bien, possibly the finest case maker that used Omega.
