MINT* 1979 Rolex Detejust - Lemon Buckley Dial | “Roger Moore” Ref. 16013 | FULL SET - Box + Papers + Original Receipt

When selecting the watches we offer, two things matter more than anything else: originality and condition. This Datejust is one of those increasingly rare examples where everything simply comes together.

The first thing to draw you in is the wonderfully bright lemon dial, its vibrant tone beautifully complemented by black Roman numerals and matching black hands. Among collectors, this distinctive configuration is simply known as the "Buckley" dial.

Just as impressive is the preservation throughout. The case remains unpolished and very sharp; the fluted bezel is wonderfully crisp with a soft golden patina, and the Jubilee bracelet is exceptionally tight, exactly what collectors hope to find. The dial is equally remarkable, free from stains, spotting, or the aging that so often affects watches of this period.

Complete with its original box and guarantee papers, it represents the kind of honest, collector-grade full set that becomes harder to find with each passing year.

There is also a wonderful piece of history behind this reference. Roger Moore famously chose to wear his own Rolex Datejust Ref. 16013 during his final appearance as James Bond in A View to a Kill (1985). It wasn't supplied by the production; it was his personal watch, a small but memorable detail that gives this reference an extra layer of charm.
