WHY IS THIS WATCH IMPORTANT
A piece of design, this Movado Caledograf feels larger than its 36mm due to the wide dial and thin bezel. The case construction is pretty unique, the tip of the lugs have a very interesting curvation showing the kind of details that make Movado one of the finest watchmakers of its era.
The vintage Movado market has surged in recent years, elevating the brand status among collectors. The brand was founded in 1881, and ever since, it's been known as one of Switzerland's most diverse and recognizable watch brands. Water-resistant chronographs are some of the most searched pieces in the Movado world.
2-tone original silvered Dial, applied Arabic Gold Numerals, red Sweep Second, apertures for Day of the Week and Months in Spanish, outer red graduation to 60 seconds, and inner blue date numbers.
According to tho the hallmark inside the case-back, the gold case was made by Manifacture Favre & Perret - SA in Le Crét-du-Locle in Switzerland.
