WHY IS THIS WATCH IMPORTANT
There are unique pieces and truly unique pieces, this one is the latter. The reference 7909 is among Tudor collectors one of the most coveted. While honeycomb dials are rare and sought-after, waffle dials are the golden ticket, let alone a black gilt waffle dial.
Only a handful of these variants had surfaced on the web in the last decade or so, the black square-shaped texture together with gold hands and indexes plays with the light just beautifully. Another thing present in this piece is the Rolex super rare Brevet crown.
CONDITION
The dial is in near flawless condition, bright and with a deep black hue, the text is all present and very legible, tritium is all there in markers and hands with a matching creamy color. The case is in honest condition with some small dings and scratches but overall remains strong, case back shows the serial number and reference very crisp.
The watch is in running condition, has been recently serviced, and keeps good time for a watch of its age.
