WHY IS THIS WATCH IMPORTANT
The vintage Movado market has surged in recent years, elevating the brand status among collectors. The brand was founded in 1881, and ever since, it's been known as one of Switzerland's most diverse and recognizable watch brands. Water-resistant chronographs are some of the most searched pieces in the Movado world.
This particular example is pretty rare and highly collectible, the appearance of a ¨Chronometre¨ writing on the dial makes it even more special, If a watch is referred to as a chronometer, it has passed intense precision tests over a 15-day period and has obtained an official rate certificate from the COSC, which is the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute. These tests measure the movement of the watch towards a set of accuracy. In order to receive this certification, the watch must remain within +6 and -4 seconds per day. Only around 3% of all Swiss watches achieved this certification.
the case is referred to as ¨Wide-Flat-Bezel¨, these are very rare and highly sought after among collectors.
