WHY THIS WATCH MATTERS

A wonderful 1930s design, Movado made some of the finest watches back in the day, with an in-house Cal.510 and a pronounced curved case, the Curviplan line is some of the most sought-after watches in recent years.

The Caliber 510 is a manually wound movement, 15 jewels, bi-metallic compensation balance, and an 18,000 BPH.

Don't mistake the Curviplan for its smaller brother ¨the Curvex¨, the Curviplan is larger and with a more pronounced case curvation.

The appearance of a ¨Chronometre¨writing on the dial makes it even more special, If a watch is referred to as a chronometer, it has passed intense precision tests over a 15-day period and has obtained an official rate certificate from the COSC, which is the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute. These tests measure the movement of the watch towards a set of accuracy. In order to receive this certification, the watch must remain within +6 and -4 seconds per day. Only around 3% of all Swiss watches achieved this certification.

The vintage Movado market has surged in recent years, elevating the brand status among collectors. The brand was founded in 1881, and ever since, it's been known as one of Switzerland's most diverse and recognizable watch brands. Water-resistant chronographs are some of the most searched pieces in the Movado world. 

CONDITION

This watch is in great overall condition, with an unpolished and sharp case with some light micro scratches.  The dial is clean with only a couple of spots.
Inside the case back we can see a couple of small scratches probably made during the opening and closing of the back.

The watch is in running condition and keeps good time for a watch of its age.
