Quite possibly the rarest watch ever produced by Movado, and in the most coveted configuration, this extraordinary piece is a true unicorn. Featuring a glossy black dial adorned with breathtaking applied Breguet numerals and crisp white matte hands, it may well be the most stunning Cronoplan in existence.
Developed and patented in the early 1930s, the Cronoplan was a groundbreaking design created for drivers and pilots to measure extended time intervals with precision. Its ingenious mechanism consists of two concentric, bi-directional rotating bezels surrounding the crystal. The outer bezel sets the minutes, while the inner bezel’s red dot aligns with the hour hand and the outer bezel’s red dot marks the minute hand. Once the timing period ends, the elapsed time is effortlessly read from the numerals indicated by the hands, a brilliant innovation ahead of its time.
