1940s Movado Square | Two-Tone Lemon Dial & Raised Breguet Numbers | Stainless Steel | Cal. 470

There’s a lot to like here, especially once you start looking closely. The square stainless-steel case measures 25 × 25 mm, and those proportions give it more presence than the dimensions might suggest.

The dial is the real draw. A vertically brushed center meets a finely grained outer section, with raised Breguet numerals adding depth to an already lovely two-tone composition. Soft shades of cream and lemon bring warmth to the whole thing, beautifully preserved.

It’s a tricky watch to photograph. A slight change in angle shifts the light across the dial, bringing one detail forward as another recedes. The kind of watch you find yourself turning in your hand long after you’ve checked the time.

CONDITION

This watch is in good, honest overall condition, with a thick case that retains its crisp edges and well-defined contours. The dial has developed an even patina, with a few small spots and light signs of ageing consistent with a watch of this period.

The watch has just been fully serviced with an amplitude of 235° Rate -6s/d and Bear Error of 1.1ms.
