1940s Movado - Breguet Numbers | François Borgel | Two-Tone Gold and Steel 30mm | Ref. 18611 | Cal. C260M

Some watches don’t ask for attention; they seduce you slowly.

Produced by François Borgel, the legendary case maker behind some of vintage Patek Philippe’s most revered creations, this watch carries the kind of provenance collectors quietly obsess over. Its construction is equally special: rather than traditional plating, a thick layer of solid gold was fused directly onto the steel lugs, an old-world technique rarely seen today. Over time, the gold has developed a rich, warm patina, beautifully complemented by the solid gold bezel and crown.

The vertically brushed silver dial has aged with remarkable grace, developing a soft, even patina that gently reveals its nearly 90 years of life. Applied gold Breguet numerals catch the light beautifully, adding just the right amount of warmth and elegance.

And then there’s the case condition, with crisp lines and sharp edges still fully intact. Exactly the kind of honest watch seasoned collectors spend years searching for.

The watch has no service history, but it is in great running shape.
