1971 Universal Genève White Shadow | Ultra-Slim | Ref. 866101 | Micro-Rotor | Gay Frères Bracelet

WHY IS THIS WATCH IMPORTANT

Universal Genève had seen a rise in the last few years, finding one in good condition together with its original Gay Frères bracelet is a challenge.
There is a lot going on in this design, the case is a slim tonneau-shaped made of stainless steel, with curves that frame the dial beautifully without the need for a bezel. Inside, it houses the caliber 1-66, the world’s thinnest automatic movement at the time at 2.5mm, which was a technical marvel.
Inside you see an elegantly finished movement with an unbelievably thin micro-rotor that is a trademark for the brand.

CONDITION

This watch is in overall great condition, the case is unpolished and sharp on the edges, and there are some minor micro scratches on the case sides. The dial and hands are in great condition.

The crown is original.

The watch has been recently serviced and keeps good time for a watch of its age.
