WHY IS THIS WATCH IMPORTANT
Salmon dials have seen a sky rocket interest increase in recent years by seasoned collectors and enthusiasts.
We are very excited to be able to offer this extremely beautiful & rare Salmon Dial Longines from 1945, there is something instantly appealing about this salmon hue, which seems to speak to collectors in a way few other colors do. Only a very few dials turn rose or salmon over the years, less than 5% according to some historians.
The blued Feuille hands give it an extra contrast, under the ¨Longines¨logo we see a ¨SUIZA¨ text, that indicates the watch was originally intended to be sold in South America, this text is very rare and extremely appreciated by Longines collectors.
According to the Longines extract from the archives, It was invoiced on November 23th of 1945 to the company Perusset, which was at that time their agent for South America.
The case size is 35mm but feels larger due to its thin bezel and large dial. The lugs have a pronounced curvature to help sit on the wrist.
CONDITION
This watch is in overall great condition, the case is in honest and strong shape, the crown is unsigned and original, the dial is evenly patinated with some text decoloration through it, there are minor marks on the back probably made when changing straps and opening the case.
The watch keeps good time and is in running condition.
