Some watches become more interesting as complications are added, and others prove that the original sketch was already complete. Time only, no excess, no ornament, just proportion, balance, and purpose.
This Rolex Oyster Precision Ref. 6426 belongs firmly to the latter camp.
Manufactured in 1967 and sold the following year, it captures everything that makes these understated Oyster references so compelling today. The original glossy black dial, with its crisp silver gilt printing, comes from what many collectors consider Rolex's finest era of dial production, offering a richness and depth that modern manufacturing struggles to recreate.
And this example leaves very little to be desired. Still fitted with its original 1967 riveted Oyster bracelet and accompanied by its original box and guarantee papers, it is one of those increasingly elusive full-set watches that seems to have survived the decades with its story intact.
CONDITION
The watch remains in outstanding condition, with a strong and honest case. The original glossy dial shows only minor aging, visible mainly on close inspection around a few markers, while the original lume on both dial and hands remains remarkably well preserved. The watch has no service history, but is keeping good time.
