We’re genuinely thrilled to spotlight this 1939 International Watch Company gem, a watch that quite literally made us stop and stare. The two-tone salmon dial is the undeniable highlight, shifting character beautifully as the light moves across it. It has that rare chameleon quality you seldom see only on the most coveted (and costly) Patek 570s, and the design resemblance is unmistakable.
We pushed our photography as far as we could, but the truth is the images still don’t do it justice. In person, it’s one of the most beautiful and captivating pieces we’ve handled in years. It’s housed in a 35mm yellow gold case bearing hallmark 149, crafted by the renowned casemaker Wyss & Co. of Tramelan, Switzerland, a detail collectors will immediately appreciate. Balanced, elegant, and full of quiet charm, it’s early IWC at its absolute finest.
CONDITION
This piece is in good, honest condition, worn, but never abused. The dial remains in great shape, bright, and exceptionally well-preserved with some aging spots and hairlines. The case shows light marks and hairlines consistent with gentle use, yet overall presents very well. The movement has just undergone a full service and is running perfectly.
