Here we have the perfect compliment for your studio or office table.

According to the French hallmarking of Mercury inside a hexagon (found in two places on the box), this box is made of Brittania silver which is an alloy made of 95% silver that exceeds the requirement for sterling silver. This silver qualifies as sterling, but it is slightly softer than sterling pieces marked 925 or simply sterling.

This handmade box is in outstanding condition, no visible nicks or scratches are present, the lift closes tightly with no loose movements.

The top is hand carved with an exquisite Guilloche pattern, inside the box we can see the original wooden inserts probably made of Walnut which are in great condition considering it is +110 years old.

This box was produced intended for the export market, meaning that its quality was the best at that time.
