WHY IS THIS WATCH IMPORTANT

In the realm of vintage watches, double-signed dials are highly prized. Among these, signatures from certain retailers are especially coveted due to their romantic heritage, with Tiffany & Co. being one of the top three most collectible. This particular dial stands out because the retailer's signature has replaced the watchmaker's, making it exceptionally rare. Only a handful of such dials exist.

The stainless steel case is made by François Borgel, the finest case maker of the last century, the very same case maker that made the most collectible Patek Phillipe vintage watches.

Borgel was born in 1856. Under the hands of Taubert & Fils, a family who bought the François Borgel operation in 1924, the "FB" and key insignia found their way inside the case-backs of some of the best and most recognizable brands in Switzerland.

The crown is original and also designed by Taubert & Fils.

CONDITION

This watch is in excellent condition, featuring an unpolished, sharp case with minor signs of use and light scratches on the caseback, likely from opening and closing. The dial is well-preserved with slight aging and a light radium burn around six, caused by years of storage.
The watch was just fully serviced and runs very strong.
